Java not starting.system outofmemory error.problem synchronizing binaries.

Hello,

In my system SCM, after applying java support packs, then ABAP support packs, java is not st all starting.

Looked into files log_bootstrap, dev_bootstrap and all files.

The main error seems to be

com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The system is out of memory. Use server side cursors for large result sets:null. Result set size:112,526,773. JVM total memory size:259,522,560.

[Dec 16, 2008 12:42:25...] [Bootstrap module]> Problem occurred while performing synchronization.

Also SDM is not able to start after giving command startserver from cmd prompt .

It was displaying as

Starting SDM - Software Deployment Manager...

tc/SL/SDM/SDM/sap.com/SAP AG/7.0017.20080813091932.0000

JStartupFramework is active

Operation mode of SDM in JStartupFramework is "Integrated".

Check if Server is running already.

OK server is not running. Enable SDM Process in JStartupFramework.

Successfully enabled SDM Process in JStartupFramework.

----

+ The SDM server will be started by the JStartupFramework now. +

----

Waiting 5 seconds for SDM server to start...

SDM server not up after 5 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.

SDM server not up after 10 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.

SDM server not up after 15 seconds. Waiting for another 5 seconds.

But after 600 seconds, it gets exited without starting.

As far from my understanding, i feel it is the problem with bootstrap as it was not synchronizing binaries with the file system. may be because of memory error as mentioned in the log above. where to check for all memory related things for this?

Kindly help me in fixng this issue and make me java up for the system.

Thanks,

Dinesh.

Hello Dinesh,

Could you try to increase the heap memory for the bootstrap process?

Use config tool and increase the memory to 512 mb. This memory is used shortly during the startup and then is released.
