Hello everybody!
has someone ever tried to run a SAP system on a Beowulf Cluster? And if so, is it faster? Is SAPs kernel capable of distributing it´s tasks via MPI or PVM?
I don´t even now if it´s possible!
Don´t get me wrong: I do not plan to install a SAP on a Beowulf Cluster, i am just interested in this topic...

Mike,
Interesting question, but I do not think it will work at this point in time. Obviously we know that sap now supports linux operating systems, but only support the vendors running approved cluster solutions (i.e. MSCS, HACMP, etc.). I would try to seek additional information from beowulf@beowulf.gsfc.nasa.gov, or Robert G. Brown at rgb@phy.duke.edu on the Beowulf-style Compute Cluster.
