File Adapter - How to raise exception when file is not available?

Hello All

I have a file -> XI -> SAP system scenario.

XI polls the FTP folder to pickup the file. I want to raise an exception or alert, when XI tries to poll for X number of times or for X minutes and the files is not present in the folder.

How can i do this?

Many Thanks

Chandra.

Its not possible without BPM or own adapter module development.

So ready for a big project or leave the idea.

Try to use BPM with deadline monitoring with time = no of poll interval after which exception is raised * poll interval duration. From there you may raise alert. Give it a try and let us know the result.

Hi Chandra

This is not possible using standard PI file adapter capabilities and you can use Scripts for this. You can send email as well from Scripts.

BPM can be an option.

Thanks

I think this is not possible. Which is why I try to avoid file adapters whenever possible.

If somebody knows a way, though, I'd be glad to read it.
