Hi all,

most of the PHP development I do is for a Football (not the American type) Prediction League. You can see it running here: http://www.englandfc.com/PredictionLeague/ . Currently this is PHP and MySQL based.

With there being less than 100 days until the WC2006 in Germany, if there is some interest I will port it to use R/3 instead of MySQL.

Cheers

John (or others) --

Have you thought about how prediction markets like this could be useful in the enterprise? Any suggestions of a good prediction market open source project to join? Thanks ...

dennis,

how about trying <a href="http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=predictionmarketopen+source&meta=">this</a>?

Leads you directly to the most prominent and established products in this realm, most of which happen to be open source.

btw,

i've once been involved in some brainstorming sessions on the possibility to apply prediction markets techniques in business performance management. That is, using it within the Balanced Scorecard methodology to create some measures for certain perspectives, mainly the business process perspective.

In short, one outcome could be, that a company's employees don't believe in the chances of a certain product or programme of theirs on the market and therefore don't buy any stakes in it.

So, I believe there are some scenarios where such markets might make sense in the enterprise.

just my 2 cents,

anton

Cool, but do you really want to port it to SAP?

It might help me make a more abstract dtabase interface, but even then most people are using MySQL with PHP.

Ultimately it is for fun.
