Migrating to other hardware platform.

Hello, colleagues!

We have a conceptual question.

Our client wants to migrate to other hardware platfom his SAP solution.

How we can reliaze that for him?

What the methods are in SAP practices?

We know such transfering can be realized by exporting of the SAP system. But this method is not recomended by SAP for production system.

Shortly speaking:

Migration to the new platform (aka Heterogeneous System Copy) of Prod system is supported by SAP, but you are required to use Migration Check. In other words SAP wants to hold your hand when you do it:

"The OS/DB Migration Check is mandatory if you are going to migrate a productive system".

If you do a heterogeneous system copy you need to have a certified migration consultant ....
