I've installed my SAP instance and it has been running fine for a few weeks. Now I cannot log on to it anymore since the log file seems full. The disk I allocated for it is only 5gb and it is 100% full.
The log shows the following errors:
Database error 257 at CON
Database > ORA-000257 archive error. Connect internally only until free.
I check my OS directory at F:\ORACLE\III\ORAARCH I am full of files like this:
IIIARCHARC01550.001 around 50 MB each.
1 - How can I delete this log since I cannot log on anymore?
2 - Which setup can I do in the system to periodically purge old log records?
Thanks

Move the files from your ORAARCH directory to another disk, that logging in should succeed.

Hi,
I would suggest Log switching. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1f/8312144bc511d189750000e8322d00/frameset.htm
for this.
