Hi Experts,
Can anybody please tell me,
When & why it is require to maintain Inspection Method. Please give suitable example in industry.
Hi Raja,
Inspection method is useful if u r using any specific inspection method for checking any particular MIC;
for example for checking of diameter(MIC) you can use vernier caliper(inspection method) as well as screw gauge(inspection method) or just any measuring tape(inspection method).
so in above example if u want to check diameter by inspection method vernier caliper only; you can maintain this combination while creating MIC itself, (while creating MIC there is a field where u can put this inspection method).
T.code for creating inspection method is QS31
Pl. revert back if any more clarification reqd.
thanks

hi raja
for creation of inspection method go to T.code QS31
enter the inspection method name as scale & give valid from date
enter the short text
enter search field
enter Inspector qualification if reqd.
release the status
and save it
now go to MIC and add this inspection method
you can add multiple inspection methods also for single MIC
Pl. revert back if any query comes
thanks

hello,
inspection method is used for
1) An inspection method describes how the inspection to be carried out for an inspection characteristic.
2) Common family of components which are inspected under standard specifications, norms etc can be treated as inspection method which will be assigned to master inspection characteristic
3) Inspection method is maintained at plant level and validity from effective date.
4) Status,Text,Long Text,Inspector Qualification to be entered on data screen for every inspection method.
5) Using DMS you can attach document in inspection methods
Eg , if you want to do viscosity test which is your MIC so in inspection method you can give
1) Temperature at which the test has to be made
2) you can give the step by step method for doing the test etc
3) expected results etc
please revert back if you need more information
Regards
Gajesh
