Hi all,
We are running ECC 6.0 on Windows 2003 platform with Oracle 10g. We have three system landscape for ECC, that is, DEV (Development), QAS (Quality) and PRD (Production).
We tried to perform a remote client copy on DEV server from PRD server. Unfortunately, it failed due to inconsistencies in Repository Objects.
What we are thinking right now is if we could perform a Homogeneous System Copy from PRD server to the DEV server. Technically speaking, it can be done without any issues.
However, if we do that, all the developments which existed on DEV server before the system copy will be erased (along with the version management control of our development objects). Is there any way which helps us retain those development objects and their vesions before performing a system copy? If yes, how should we go ahead?
Timely help would be highly appreciated.
Best Regards.
Wolfgang
Yes. It is possible.
Please refer to the following note:
Note 130906 - How can versions be transported
This will help your requirement.

Hello Jazz and Wolfgang,
We are in process of Upgrading our environment from 47 to ECC
Our Development System is quite old (went live in 1998). We want to refresh our 47 DEV system from PRD.
I have looked at the OSS Note SAP Note 130906 - How can versions be transported?
Can you please provide your experience related to the process.
Steps
a. Export the version tables out from DEV
b. Copy over PRD db and rename.
c. Import the versions back in.
Questions...
1. Did you have to reset the Transport Nos in E070L ?
2. Are the Version details for a Program visible as they were earlier.
3. Do I have to take any special steps other than mentioned in the Note
4. For 4.7 System the tables shoud vrsd,vrsd,vrsx,Vrsx2,vrsmodisrcvrsx3 - right ?
Will appreciate your reply.
Thanks
L Fatnani
