Hi guys: The client wants to ensure that when an expense project type is selected, that a settlement rule MUST be entered. How can i validate this? please give me options
thanks
Brian
Hi,
My recomendation to do this is by creating a strategy for WBS and then run T/code CJB1 as a job in the system to generate settlements rules for all your projects. Then this will be handle automatically.

use BADI for settlement rule
go to SE18 type asterix wbs asterix you will easily recognise the BADI name
you can use this to either make settlement rule mandatory or set the rules for auto population of settlement rule based on project type
You can also use BADI PROJ definiton update if you need to just validate if settlement rule exists

Hi Virendra: Thanks for all your help on this... one last thing remains
I am coding up the user exit in ZGGBR000 form module pool and the logic i am trying to develop is
" if there is a settlement rule entered for project type EX, then ok, else error message"
however i cannot see while debugging if an entry was made in the settlement rule tab for me to check against it...
any suggestions?
thanks
Brian
