Hi Guys,
I just attached a backup DB from different SID but from different path of SAPDATA(n) and it works, but now I want to export the data using R3load but got an error during executing R3ldctl,
I thought this error occurred because of it couldn't find the new sapdata path which I assumed its in SAPDATA_HOME by default.I did execute this command before running R3SETUP :
export SAPDATA_HOME=/newpath/sapdata
How can I change the env file of Oracle ?
Thanks
How can I change the env file of Oracle ?
Not sure if I correctly understood this question.
You are on some kind of Unix, I presume.
1) First you have to know which file to change.
The answer will depend on how your system was installed. Most probably it is a file, or various files, in the home directory of user ora<sid>, or user <sid>adm, or both, and a name like .dbenv.sh or or dbenv.csh, or similar.
To find out, go to the home directories and type:
grep SAPDATA_HOME .*sh
2) How to change:
You know about vi or any other editor? But first, for safety reasons, create a copy of the files.
hope this helps

Dear Hazrienne,
I moved your question to the SAP on Oracle forum as it sounds more DB specific.
Thanks,
Hannes
