Dear All,

Our client wants to use their own No ranges but in the Develop client different No ranges exist. While changing them to as per the clientu2019s requirement system is giving a message that the Lower limit canu2019t be changed. If I change and run the sales cycle system will give the new no range (which I have assigned) but in change mode of the same No range it is showing old document.

So how can I change and test in Dev. client ?

Existing No. ranges in Dev client (VN01):

No. From No To No Current No

01 0000000001 0004999999 300

02 0005000000 0005999999 0

03 0010000000 0014999999 10000350

04 0015000000 0019999999 0

05 0020000000 0024999999 20000098

06 0025000000 0029999999 0

07 0030000000 0034999999 0

08 0035000000 0039999999 0

09 0040000000 0044999999 0

10 0045000000 0049999999 0

Clientu2019s requirement:

01 1 50000

02 50001 80000

03 80001 90000

04 90001 100000

05 100001 105000

06 105001 115000

07 115001 120000

08 120001 122000

19 122001 140000

10 140001 150000

Please help me how to achieve this?

Thanx&Regards,

RK

Dear Ramu,

First of all, I would like to understand that your "Client's Number Range" requirement, needs to be implemented on to "Production-Server" or on to "Development/ Quality Server"?

Now, assuming that you have already maintained Number-range on to "Development-Server"; and now Client's Requirement is to obtain his defined Number-Range, on to Development-Server, itself...

I would also recommend Mr. Jignesh's Solution.

I don't think there is anything to worry much about..

Amit

Hi Jignesh n Amit,

Thans for ur replies.

My question is that, can I assign the client's expected no rages in Dev client?

Bcz, in qty seever also the same no ranges are existing except the status.

existing no range is 01 0000000001 0004999999 489

but I want start from 01

Dear Ramu

Go to VN01 and click on "Intervals".

Now you will have a small box with header "Insert Interval" on top. Maintain some value at the left column under the tab "No" and place your mouse in the next column under "From number". Press F4. Whatever number ranges available for SD documents, system will itself propose. You have to choose only from those number ranges.

thanks

Dear Ramu,

First of all, You can maintain different Number Ranges, on to different Clients - Development, Quality & Production.

Its not mandatory, to maintain the same Number-Range, across all the Clients.

Now, Could you please clear yourself and your requirement as:

You are saying that -

existing no range is 01 0000000001 0004999999 489
but I want start from 01

whereas, in your first post, you said that you don't want the above-said Number Range, as Client has his own Number Range.

Sorry, bcz of some technical problem I could not post the whole matter

Hi Jignesh n Amit,

Thanks for ur replies.

My question is that, can I assign the client's expected no rages in Dev client?

Bcz, in qty server also the same no ranges are existing, except the status.

Existing no range is 01 0000000001 0004999999 500

But I want start from 01 501 50000.

Against 02 50001 80000

But in existing no range against 02 is having higher no range series. So whether is it possible to assign this or not? if so, how, plz help me.

As per me I think I can't use the lower no range than the existing. If I use overlapping will takes place.

Regards,

RK

Dear Ramu,

Is there any specific reason to use Keys - 01 to 10 only, which are already being maintained and used?

01 0000000001 0004999999 300

02 0005000000 0005999999 0

03 0010000000 0014999999 10000350

04 0015000000 0019999999 0

05 0020000000 0024999999 20000098

06 0025000000 0029999999 0

07 0030000000 0034999999 0

08 0035000000 0039999999 0

09 0040000000 0044999999 0

10 0045000000 0049999999 0

Why don't you maintain "Client's Number Range" with new keys, say

AA 1 50000

AB 50001 80000

AC 80001 90000

AD 90001 100000

AE 100001 105000

AF 105001 115000

AG 115001 120000

AH 120001 122000

AI 122001 140000

AJ 140001 150000

Or

11 1 50000

12 50001 80000

13 80001 90000

14 90001 100000

15 100001 105000

16 105001 115000

17 115001 120000

18 120001 122000

19 122001 140000

20 140001 150000

T. Code: SNRO

Press "Create", assign data element and corresponding data, press "Range Numbers" and "Intervals", use the FROMNUMBER and TONUMBER fields. Save and Activate.

T. Code: SM30

Assign No. range.

Best Regards,

Amit.

Note: In normal circumstances, The answer to your Question is NO.

Dear Ramu,

I agree to Amit Yadav & same is exactly what I suggested in my first post itself...

You can have different number in Production, Development & Quality clients....

THanks,

Dear Ramu,

As few of the Numbers of the old Number Ranges is already used, it better you dont touch them. What you can do is something like this:

11 301 - 50000

12 50001 - 80000

13 80001 - 90000

14 90001 - 100000

15 100001 - 105000

16 105001 - 115000

07 115001 - 120000

18 120001 - 122000

19 122001 - 140000

20 140001 - 150000

Create the number ranges as mentioned above with new Keys & assigne these keys to respective documents.

This would definitely solve your problems...

Hope if helps.. .

Give points if useful...

Thanks,
