Hi,

In Deman planning the CVC's are the only way you can make a relation to any kind of master data as descrbed above if you have a Prodcut group, product, and component ,then after you load the characteristics from a cube or flat file the system automitacilly assigns these characteristcs as follows

this component is assigned to this product which belongs to this product group,so though you have higher level of data and the lowest level of data you should not consider like that at this point when the CVC are generated, all are just linked toghter according to the data,

AS for the hireacary you can display it for your self using the aggeration and dissagration

You can do this by selecting the data as you want to see it in the planing book by only selecting the product group ,that gives you all the products under that group,

If you sleect the produc then it will show you all the components for that Product.

This way you can see all your hireacaries.

Hi Shyam,

DP does not work by hierarchies. DP works based on CVCs. ANy Hierarchy is managed by few CVCs.

For example if you have a hierarchy like the following:

Finished good

-

Product

-

Component

or FG1 has 2 Products P1 and P2. P1 has C1 and C2 and P2 has C3 and C4 as components.

DP gets this in different CVCs

if you have finished good, product and component in your Planning object structure, then depending on your data, the system creates CVCs like below:

Finished good--

product---component

FG1--

P1--

C1

FG1--

P1--

C2

FG1--

P2--

C3

FG1--

P2--

C4

Yes the Brand comes at highest level then comes Product group and then the product. It looks like

Brand (Product Family)>Product Group> Product
