Hi there,
The dates that are coming in the schdule line catg is through the delivery scheduling.
When you enter the sales order, you will enter the customer requested delivery date. From that date system will carry backward scheduling basing on the dates that are maintained in
Route: Transit time. To propose the GI date. This is the time taken to transport the goods to the customer from the GI date.
Shipping point:pick / pack & loading time.
Material Availability Date MAD: in MM02 --> MRP. Inhouse production time (for manufactured goods) or GI processing time / external procedurement time (for trading goods).
The follwoing dates are imp: GI date, loading date, pick pack date & material availability date MAD.
Time between:
Delivery date - GI date is transit time
GI date - loading date: loading time
Loading date - pick pack date: pick pack time
Consider that the customer has loaded the order the order on 25th & requested delivery date on the 31st Dec.
For eg you have maintained transit time as 2 days, loading time as 1 day, pick pack time as 1 day.
So from 31st dec system does backward scheduling & proposes the GI date as 29th, loading date as 28th, pick pack date as 27th. Material should be available on 27th to start pick pack. System will then check if MAD is on 27th. If MAD is on 27th, then system will confirm 31st Dec as confirmed delivery date. But if material is available on 29th, then from 29th, it will carry forward scheduling to propose 30th as pick pack date, 31st as loading date, 1st Jan as GI date & 3rd Jan as delivery date. So 3rd Jan will be conformed delivery date. These dates will be updated in the schedule lines.

Hi,
You can do this setting at two places
1. Go to IMG u2013 enterprise structure u2013 definition u2013 logistics execution u2013 Define, copy, delete, check shipping point.
Select your shipping point and go to detail you will find out two fields
Loading time and pick pack time these are the two setting for backward scheduling.
2. Go to 0VTC and select your route over there you will rest of the two setting of backward scheduling.
Transit time and transportation lead time are the two setting which will effect backward scheduling.
Hope so you got your answer.
And different properties are given by other colleague.
Regards
Raj.

Hi,
Delivery date : Date requested by the customer, or (if the requested date cannot be
met) Earliest date proposed by the system after automatic availability
checks and delivery scheduling.
Material avail.date: The date on which the material must be available. On the material availability date, the vendor msut start the activities relevant for delivery, such as picking and packing the goods. The material availability date must be sufficiently early enough so that thegoods are prepared by the loading date.
Loading date : The date by which the goods must be ready to be loaded and the vehicles
required to transport them must be available.
Transportation Plan. Date :The date from which the organization of goods transport must begin.
Goods issue date: The date on which the goods must leave the company to arrive at the
customer location in time.
confirm qty: The item quantity that the system confirms for shipping after checking
inventory availability & it can be differ from order qty.

Hello Saravanan
Checking rules are transaction based
They are perdefined in SAP
A is sales order
B is SD delivery
Then there are keys for Purchase order creation/gi/production order etc
Like that it is defined
There are more keys also. But these A and B take care of most of SD part
When sales order is created system makes the availability check with checking rule A (sales order) and the checking group that is maintained in sales general plant data in MMR
When Delivery is created system makes the availability check with checking rule B (Delivery) and the checking group that is maintained in sales general plant data in MMR
So based on transactions these default Checking rules are picked up
The combination of Checking rule and checking group is the scope of check which gives complete meaning of availablity check

There's no picking date on the sales order, but you could consider material availability (material staging) date your picking date, because that's the date when the picking can begin.
