Dear experts,
Can any one plz explain the INTERNAL PROJECT.
Plz give overview of the process.......up to settlement.
Whether Internal projects are Investment projects...(plz correct me if im wrong)
Regards
Chandra
internal projects are usually expense or cost projects
create project
release and capture costs via time confirmation or material consumption
settle to cost centres
very similar to internal orders in CO module but with the extended PS functionality
I would not call an internal project an investment project.
usual terminology for 3 basic project types
internal - expense - cost - maintenance project
external - customer - revenue porject
capital - investment project

Internal project could be investment or expense or maintenance project. If it is expense project then cost is settled to Cost Center. Where as for investment projects cost is settled to AUC and subsequently to Fixed Asset.
Reset of the process would be same.

I feel Internal projects is not SAP standard terminology.
Normally interal projects are the projects internal to company, so it will come under expense projects.
say for ex. your organisation is the financial service provider company . Being a large entity, your organisation also have to does financial activity for meeting day to day statutory requirments. So, for the capturing that type of cost you create project in SAP . that would be purely internal projects. normally you will settle that project against cost center of perticular department.
Currently our client is having 2 -5% of projects are like this they called it internal projects.
Normally internal projects are expense project, Bsed on scenario sometimes it can be Investment project.
