Space requirements for a WAS upgrade

Hi

I am upgrading a WAS ABAP 6.20 to a 6.40

I am working on a HP-UX PA-RISC 64 bit OS and with a Oracle database.

I was not able to find an exact description of the space requirements for the Oracle part (Filesystem and Tablespace)

Can someone help me please. It is an important problem for us

Hi Remi,

Check Note 661640 for the space requirements. Also please

check in http://service.sap.com/instguides -> Netweaver 04

-> Upgrade -> Web AS for the installation guides.

Thank you for answering me.

I already read that note (and in fact the OSS note #662219) and if you look inside that note, you have a paragraph named "II/ .... Freespace Requirement in the Database" but it is empty.

The point is I want to know exactly how many free space I need into the following filesystems:

/oracle

/oracle/SID/origlogB

/oracle/SID/mirrlogA

/oracle/SID/sapreorg

/oracle/SID/origlogA

/oracle/SID/mirrlogB

Hi Remi,

The upgrade guide may give you better information

regarding the space requirements.

The section "Checking the hardware requirements" in the

guide suggests as below.

<i>Space Requirements in the Database

Make sure that enough temporary and permanent free space is available in your database.

Informix and Oracle

The PREPARE program gives you information on how much free space is needed in the database. PREPARE takes the status of your database into account and calculates the exact space requirements.</i>

There must be 500 MB of free space for PREPARE in the database. The space requirements for each tablespace are

calculated by the PREPARE program.

Also there is information regarding the space for the

upgrade directory.
