PS Documents & Drawings - Restrictions

Hi experts,

I would like to know the following;

1. Any restrictions of memory size on addition of documents and drawings (from CAD or PRO/E) to the network activities in PS.

2. Where is the data getting saved exactly?

3. Can we do changes in the documents (say excel / word), and update it after every save operation?

4. Till what period / stage we can retrieve the drawings and documents from projects.

Please advise.

Hi

1.If you put it centrally on DMS server then I do not think there is any issue.

2. In case of DMS it is stored at central location and can be accessed, if there is no separate server then on the SAP central database. It is not recomended.. as it will consume space and affect on performance.

3. Yes we can do the changes and save it. It is called as version management

4. Till you archieve and delete it.

Our client is also implementing DMS module, is there any integration i can do in PS with DMS? Please advice.

Yes you need to maintain certain config. in PS. Please check the same in SPRO.
