Hi all ,

We have deployed GRC RAR 5.3 on a java stack on a seperate server and we are trying to get connected to the SAP backend system .Now is it compulsory to maintain the entries in the etc/services file .for example :sapmsSNW 3600/tcp.

We have not yet added so will it have an impact on the java connectors that we are going to establish to the backend system.

We are struck with this issue .

Thanx and regards ,

Ambarish .

Hi Ambarish,

This is sap gateway information and it will be required when you will be creating connectors to backend system.

Dear Ambarish,

Visit OSS Note [52959 sapms..., sapdp.., sapgw.. unknown (or not found)|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/52959]

For UNIX installations, you will add the following entry:

Add an entry in the services file in the following format: sapms<sap_sid> 36<instance>/tcp

sapgw00 3200/tcp

For Windows:

Add an entry in the services file in the following format: sapms<sap_sid> 36<instance>/tcp

Add the following entry: sapgw00 3300/tcp
