I tried following the installation guide for the post installlation phase of MDM

but it doesnt really explains what needs to be done in the SQL server ( beside changing the security )

what about creating user for MDM and configuring the database?

can anybody tell me what exactly needs to be done?

Hi,

Once you are done with the MDM and database installation. You need to create the MDM Repository which is nothing but the Schema or database structure and then roles & users is to be created. You can leave database as it is.

Please let us know if you need any details specifically.

Hi Shei,

i have responded to part of your question in the other thread. Creating of roles/users can be done after getting into the repository. Necessarily we don't have to do much on the database except maintaining the user and password.

Hi Shai,

There are two ways in working with the MDM repositories.

- Either you create your own rep ie custom rep where you decide the tables and fields.

- Or you use the predelivered Business content rep provided by SAP.

To design your own custom build rep you have to to:

- Mount the server

- Right click on the server and say create rep

- The default rep is created with the std tables like sound table, workflow table etc.

- The main table is always named as product.

- Under this table you can create your fields as well as other lookup tables if needed.

To use the std SAP delivered rep:

- A zip file comes a long with the SAP std installation package

- You need to unzip this file and place the .a2a file in the archive folder of the SAM MDM server.

- Once this file is saved here, you can unarchive it form the MDM console.

- In the console you need to right click on the Server and say Unarchive rep

- You will have to enter in all the DBMS username and pwd and then select the rep from the list.

- You can also modify the std content as per your need if required.

Hope It Helped

Thanks & Regards
