Hi Experts,
I would like to know if a project has to be assigned necessarily to a Sales Order for a New Product Development project.
Here our client will design & manufacture the prototype for his customer. We treat
this as an investment type of project as no revenue is generated until project is completed / final prototype is delivered and approved by client.
If we do not assign a project to sales order and just create the project directly & execute it, will there be any implications? If any please suggest and advise me. I hope it is necessary in case of customer project for billing.
Thanks & Regards,
Kabir.
Hi,
You are right, NPD will be cost/investment project, revenue is not involved so sales order not required.
