Business System and Logical system

Hi Experts,

in SAP if we want to exchange the Data between the systems we use Logical Syestem. Why we need Logical systems basically? and Why need Business system in XI?

Hi Manoj,

Business systems are nothing but names to identify each and every systems in the

System Landscape directory(SLD).

Based on the type of System , u have to create it like :

• WEB AS ABAP

*THIRD-PARTY

*STAND ALONE

We have technical system with same optons like WAS ABAp, WAS JAVA, Stand alone.

Then why I need to go for Business system...........

Manoj,

The Business System doesnt contain any information other than a name to identify.

The rest of the info are maintained in the technical system only.

Try to create BS as well as TS in SLD , you will know the difference.

Hi ,

In the Technical system only you will contain all the exact technical information . the Business system represent the technical system and its used in the Design and Configuration . You can not use the TS directly in the IR and ID.
