Hi,
We have got couple of 'Quote' in our System. In VOV8 tcode, when we create different Sales Orders, we want to set the 'Reference mandatory' to B (With reference to Quotation).
My Question: Out of multiple quotes in the system, to which quote the system would require the user to enter as prerequisite?
Our Requirement: For one set of order types, we want to make certain quotes type mandatory and for other set of order types, we want to make other quote type mandatory.
How can that be done?
For the same requirement, we want to set 'Quotation Message' in such a way, that only for certain order types, the system should check one set of quotes, whereas for other order types, the system should check another set of quotes.
What would be the best way to achieve, both or one of the above requirement.
Thanks
Hi
If your requirement is not met with the above solutions.
You can try doing it through copying requirement (V_TVCPAAK-GRBED)in VTAA. before this in the VOV8 make it reference mandatory.
In copying requirement, you can check the source order type(VBAK-AUART) and target order type (HVBAK-AUART)in the routine and accordingly you can give the error message.

That's great idea to take 'copy control' path. How about 'Quotation Message'? While creating orders, will the system check for the 'particular' type open quotes (which the order has referenced), or the system will check for all the open quotes? Is there any config to do that or it has to be thro user exits (or Requirement type).
Hi SR,
Against this copy controls and the settings you have made in the sales document type, the system will now ask for the reference quotation number wherein you will provide the quotation number that the system should refer.
So, the system will only check the quotation that you have specified. Obviously the user will provide the number of an open quotation itself. So this should solve your problem.
If you have anything to add to this, please do so.

Hi there,
Define 2 quotation types QT & ZQT. Likewise define 2 order types OR & ZOR. For OR maintain QT as reference. For ZOR make ZQT as reference.
Since you have 2 scenarios, for 1 scenario use OR & for another use ZOR. This will be the simplest solution.
There should be some deciding factor that differenciates the 2 cases like dist channel ZZ, ZY or division 00, 01. Map then to define 2 different sales areas. 1000 / ZZ / 00 & 1000 / ZY / 01. Assign OR to 1000 / ZZ / 00 & ZOR to 1000 / ZY / 01.

Where to specify the QT/ZQT as reference? In VOV8, 'Reference Mandatory' can be assigned to 'Quote' in general, not to specific quote like 'QT' and/or 'ZQT' specifically.
Similarly, for 'Quotation Message', we want the system to check only for open 'QT' for 'OR' and to check against for open 'ZQT' for ZOR', where to do that?
Hello,
To specify the document types as reference maintain copy controls.
Here your requirement is to maintain sales document types as reference, so, go to t-code VTAA and there maintain your target doc type like OR/ZOR and source doc.type as QT/ZQT.
According to your requirement the settings should be:
1.Target Doc type-OR
Source Doc type-QT
2.Target Doc type-ZOR
Source Doc type-ZQT
After you do this setting the system will now refer only those doc types that you have maintained here.
Hope this helps else friends please correct me.

Swami

Hi,
As your requirement was that system should automatically select one quotation from number of quotation.
So as per my knowledge it cant be possible.
You have to select the quotation from the drop down list.
For automatic quotation mess you can use the option in sales order type (VOV8)
Give quotation message A and save it.
Now try to create the order it will give pop about the open quotation.
So just select your quotation from the list.
If still have any problem then just let us know

Thanks Raj,
However, before we go 'popup' way, we want to explore the options to pickup one set of quote(s) for certain order types and other set of quote for some particular order types AUTOMATICALLY.
Agreed, this is not possible with the std config, is there any way to accomplish this via some kind of user exits?
