MDM Connection Error

Hi,

We are getting the following error in MDM standard iviews and Webdynpro using mdm java apis.

Error occurred: Error performing search.Can not authenticate user session '<server=myserver serverUser=Admin repository=MyRepository region=English[US] user=MyUser>'because user password is not specified(see log for details)

Can anybody tell us the reason for this error.

Same iview works after some time and gives error some other time.

Hi Ramu,

What about other iViews? This same happening with all the iViews? Try restarting your J2EE Engine once.

We have done user mapping with proper user & password ( non blank password) and tested iview several times successfully. But, suddenly I get this error for few hours and working for some time.

Hi Ramu,

This could be happening as your Portal server may be going down often or your MDM repository getting unloaded or MDM server down.

Just try monitoring your portal connection and backend MDM server if the MDM server is running continously and the rep is always in the loaded state.Monitor these whenever your iviews are throwing these errors

Also i hope you have installed the correct Sca and java files on the portal matching with the same version and patch level with the MDM server.

Hi Ramu,

You must note that when integarting portal with MDM,you need to perform user mapping of the portal user with the MDM user.

When you are mapping the portal administrator user to the MDM user.You must have a username nad password for the MDM user.

You cannot perform user mapping if the MDM user is just having a Username and Blank password.

so make sure in your MDM console the specified user is having the correct username and password,if required reset the password in console with a new password and then perform user mapping in EP.

Hi Ramu,

First check whether MDM System is able to connect to MDM Server. In User Mapping you can not specify the user with blank password. Reason of the error could be some one might have removed the password of the user used in User Mapping in MDM Side. Perform the User Mapping step again and check the connection with MDM System.
