Hello Gurus,
My requirement is to create a new material account assignment group. Because it is treated as master date, should I create it directly in Production server ( with permission for access to production) or create in development and transport it to production after testing in quality.
Regards,
Kishore
Dear Kishore
It is strictly not recommended to create / assign any IMG data directly in production server. Whatever you want to create in IMG, do the same in development server, test it, move the request to quality, again test it and if found okay it should be moved to production. Please dont repeat dont do any such creation or assignment directly in production.
In OVK5, we can create Material Account Assignment Group. So please create the same in development, test it and then move it to production.
thanks

Hi Kishore,
There might be chances of having authorization to make changes in Production server. It is sure that you should also make that changes in Development and Quality in order to check the process and test it. Therefore it is allways recommended to transport the request from Dev-QltPro.

Dear Kishore,
Path, to define Material Account Assignment Group:
SPRO --> IMG --> Sales & Distribution --> Basic Functions --> Account Assignment/Costing --> Revenue Account Determination --> Check Master Data Relevant For Account Assignment --> Material: Account Assignment Group
Its always better to Create the things in to Development-Server, Testing-performed on to Quality and once Tested Successfully, Transported on to Production-Server.
As, direct creation on to Production-Server, may lead to data-inconsistency, if test fails.
Best Regards,
Amit

That's up to your organization to decide. The general rule would be, if a development and quality assurance system exist, they would be used and transport done to production after successful testing.
