Problems saving docx, xlsx,... files in MDM via MDM Java API

Hello MDM Community,

in our project we are trying to save different types of files in the mdm repository via the new Java Api. The files itself are saved in the binaries table and then linked to the record.

Most of the files are working fine except *x Files --> i.e. all the Office 2007 Files. "Old" doc and xls files work without any problem.

Could you give me a hint how to solve this issue?.

Thx and kind regards

Lissi

Hello SDN Community,

we saved this problem with the decision to save the files on a server and not in the repository itself.

Hi Elisabeth,

I need to create a WD Java application using the new MDM API to save files in a repository and link them to a record.

Could you please give me some pointers or maybe share some of your code?

Hi,

MDM doesnt support office 2007.May be that could be the reason.

Just if can refer the Master guide of MDM SP06 it is clearly mantioned MS 2007 not supported.

Hi Nisha,

thanx for your reply.

Therefore it might be something like a limitation in the MDM Java API, because uploading of the docx file with the Data Manager is possible without any problem.

Kind regards,

Hi Lissi,

could it be a general problem with the extension length? Maybe you could try uploading an Office 07 docx file with a simple doc extension.

Just guessing here.

Best regards
