Hi kaustubh,
SPP is an interesting sub module in APO.It is a essentially a duplicate of the DP and SNP footprint.
So Please find this link.
http://sapplanning.wordpress.com/2008/05/15/spp/
http://www.sap.com/community/webcast/2007_05_SAPPHIRE_EU/2007_05_SAPPHIRE_EU_VI2340.pdf
Service Parts planning will help you to in-depth understanding of different planning scenarios for service parts like : forecasting, Inventory planning, distribution requirement planning and deployment and inventory balancing.
Regards,
Pullaiah

As a book, their is a one. So if you can spent some money, you can get nice document.
best regards
Keiji
