ALL background work processes used by SAPSYS user

Hi ALL,

We have an issue in our BI system(BI 7.0 patch 09, kernel-patch 95). from last 2 week; All background processes are occupied by SAPSYS user; and it stop all background processes however dialog user working fine; when we are trying to cancel it; it is not getting canceled; only solution is to restart the system; which is risky while business is running

This happend two time in last 2 week in our system; we already raised message with SAP; they said we need to upgrade our kernel; we are already in process of upgrading it; but it will take time;

But my question is- we are running in kernel patch 95 almost 2 year; we never faced such problem;

only thing i can found is in work processes trace we are getting error deadlock in work processed 8; but that is not a case;as i tried to cancel work process 8 it is not getting canalled start getting error in next work processes;

this is quite weird; can any body else faced this problem and have solution

Can you please verify, if the workprocesses are all awaiting the same semaphore? You can see that in SM50, column SEM.
