Hi
As i said above Use Any FTP server or NFS of XI. Without these option u can not pick file.
if you select NFS you write the file to a local PI or mounted directory.
The configuration is described here:

Hi Priya,
If you are practising the scenario in your machine, you can keep your source and target directories any where in your system.and as you said that your file is picked and not posted in target, check for the message in SXMB_MONI and check your receiver communication channel's parameters.
Thanks,
Madhu

hi
Download one of these FTP tool,
http://www.smartftp.com/download/
http://www.coreftp.com/download.html
with the server details, create new Folders one for the source and other for the target.
Mention the same paths on the sender and reciever CC

Hi Priya,
You have to use the server folder path. In that path you can create your own folders with a specific naming convention. This absolute path you need to provide in the File sender and receiver.

Check the transaction code sxmb_moni in the abap stack and also check Communication Channel Monitoring in Runtime Workbench for the monitoring purpose in PI.
Thanks and Regards,
Sanjeev.
