Hello SAP gurus,
Does anyone know if MSA HH 5.0 works with MI 7.1?
Regards,
Mariana
Hi,
it will work in compatible mode of MI7.1, but it is a little bit of a hassle to get it really working. But at least, yes it is working. But if you have it working in MI7.0 actually, there is not really a need to update at the moment, cause of the compatibility layer you do not have most of the benefits of MI7.1

Hi Mariana, Oliver
The backward compatibility mode in Mobile 7.1 has one restriction. MSA HH which is a generic sync based application will not be supported on Mobile 7.1. The only generic sync application that will be supported on Mobile 7.1 will be MTT/MTS. The reason for this is very straight forward - you wouldnt be able to take advantage of various new features that are introduced in 7.1 if you use a generic sync application. Hence as Oliver mentioned using it on MI 7.0 is preferred.

Dear Wolfgang,
Most of the mobile xApps (including xMAM and xMAU) work with 7.1 in compatibility mode. But there is no difference between their 7.0 implementation and the one you will be able to put in 7.1, because they are using the compatibility layer and not most of the improvements of 7.1 as told by others.
There are no native Mobile 7.1 versions of xApps currently available.

Dear Wolfgang,
Check the migration guide under for SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1 under http://service.sap.com/instguides

Hi Wolfgang,
it does work - see the posting there.....see it from that perspective: SAP has top make sure that all old investments of Partners and companies are still valid and can work on the new platform. That is the reason for compatible layer and so all old apps will work - but enhancements of these apps are sometimes problematic and if it makes sence to use MI7.1 with old apps is another question that can be raised - but at the end: yes it works!
Regards,
Oliver
