All,
Please keep in mind I am running Kernel 6.4
When upgrading a 9.2 database to 10.2, the documentation indicates you should upgrade BR*Tools to 7 and the instant client to 10.
Can I have the following configuration running and working:
Oracle 10.2.0.4
BR*Tools 7
InstantClient 10.2
Kernel 6.4
I ask - b/c I don't believe the 10.2 instant client supports the 6.40 Kernel - but I could be wrong (and I hope that I am).
Any help on this is appreciated.
Thanks,
Sean
Hello,
it's correct that you have to stay with Oracle client 9i.
However you may have to install a more recent client, 9.2.0.7 or better 9.2.0.8
Have a look at SAP notes 836517 and 952388.

Hi Sean,
Please go through the following sap notes also:
948294 - AIX JFS2: mount options to use with Oracle 10g
830576 - Parameter recommendations for Oracle 10g
since we have upgraded from 9.2 to 10.2 and
we have tested successfully BRTOOLS 7.00 (39) on Dev server,
also BRTOOLS 6.40 (40) is successfully running on Production server server
