Is SAP moving away from ABAP stack?

Hello Experts,

Recently I read on the net that SAP was moving away from the ABAP stack and moving closer to the JAVA stack and SOA.

So, as an XI professional should we be looking more at specializing ourselves on the JAVA & SOA stack than the ABAP side of things?

Warm Regards,

ET

The only thing with ABAP is that it is SAP proprietary. Therefore a non-SAP developer couldn't develop any application on it. Therefore for open source based solution, Java is used. However, I don't think that SAP would really move away from ABAP due to robustness of the language.
