Hi SRM Gurus
Is is possible to manage the budgets cost center wise.
Say I have 5 users working in on department having a common cost center and I want to track the budget cost center wise so any one out of 5 creating a shopping cart the budget should be checked and if exceeded should throw an error.
regards,
Nimish Sheth
Hi Nimish,
this is standard with R/3 budget.
If your 5 users are assigning their cost to the same Internal Order or WBS element, the synchronous availability check in R/3 will make what you want.
You can also use SRM purchasing budget. Not like R/3 CO budget check, this is a rather simple budget assigned in SRM.
This purchasing budget is user-dependent but it can also be saved in addition to the user in the role and in the organizational plan.
The budget is defined for a specific time period (month, quarter or year).
Look at details in online help:

Hi Christophe,
We're implementing a classic scenario - SRM 5.0 and CCM 2.0; R/3 4.6C. We are interested in the first scenario -
we would like to use the standard R/3 budget check so that if 5 different users are assigning their cost to the same cost center, the synchronous availability check in R/3 will throw an error if the budget is exceeded at the time of SHC creation for another user. Does this require any config in SRM? And if you have any information on the R/3 setup as well it will be very helpful.
Thank you in advance,
Jay
