Restarting through SMICM

Hi Experts,

When I go to teh transaction

SMICM,- Administration - ICM - Exit Soft - lOCAL

SMICM,- Administration- ICM - Exit Soft - gLOBAL

What is the difference, what does it do?

SMICM,- Administration - ICM -Maintainence - Activate

SMICM,- Administration - ICM - Configuration - RELOAD

SMICM,- Administration - ICM -Start Options - SET

SMICM,- Administration - ICM -Restart - YES

SMICM,- Administration - ICM -Restart - NO

SMICM,- Administration - j2EE LOCAL INSTANCE(LOCAL) - SEND SOFT SHUTDOWN - WITH RESTART

SMICM,- Administration - j2EE LOCAL INSTANCE(LOCAL) - SEND hard SHUTDOWN - WITH RESTART

SMICM,- Administration - j2EE LOCAL INSTANCE(LOCAL) - eNDPROCESS - WITH RESTART

SMICM,- Administration - j2EE LOCAL INSTANCE(LOCAL) RESTART - yes.

SMICM,- Administration - j2EE LOCAL INSTANCE(global ) RESTART - yes.

Pls suggest what do these steps DO!!

Hi All,

I want to Stop ICM from my Production system which is cluster based system.

What is the Differnce between when click and which need to select

SMICM- Administration - ICM    - Exit Soft - LOCAL

Use Send Soft Shutdown - With Restart option to restart the Java stack linked to the ABAP stack of your PI server.
