RNIF Exception Messages Stuck with TBDL Status

Hi,

An RNIF scenario has exceeded the maximum number of retries and has generated an exception message. The problem is that the message is still in TBDL status. It has to be collected from the queue and an alert has to be triggered; but this is not happening.

There is always a proper acknowledgement for the cases when the scenario behaves as expected. The problem is with exception messages. I have seen a SAP note 917975 - Messages with profile "Exception" are stuck in status TBDL. The note is specific to "Message failed by admin action" and this is not applicable to this problem. There isBut we are a much newer SP level.

Did anyone deal with this situation before or any thoughts on how to solve this problem?

A restart of Messaging System service fixed the problem.
