Hi Guys,
Do we use local DBMSs on client side in Central Master Data Management scenario??? or just one master mdm DB will be connected to client systems. Or clients may have local DBMSs for cashing purpose.
Regards,
Naeem
Hi Naeem,
In Central Master Data Management scenario we might be using locally different DBMSs to store local master data records but the creation/modification will be done in/using master mdm DB & that newly created record will be updated to all backend local DBMSs.
In short central MDM DB will be used to monitor all master data related activities to ensure no duplicate records get created in entire landscape system.

Hi Naeem,
In a Central Master data landscape scenario .Master data needs to be centrally created using a front end which can be web based like portal but the backend system will be a single MDM server where all the master data will sit.
This MDM server will use a single DBMS data base to store all the newly created Master records.
The centrally created deduplicated data needs to be in one DBMS for the central data governace and distribution.
You can different DBMS for local data as mentioned earlier which store specific data and not global attributes.
To know a little more on how the CMDM scenario works in MDM kindly refer the below link:
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards
