How to customize the Reference field of Billing to be inputable in VF02

There is an customer requirement to change the Reference document of Billing, how can I achieve it?

I don't want to modify the standard program.

If you checked what he has done, then please let us know how he has done this. I would guess it is not actually the "reference document" but an extra field that is used,

mostly Likely he is updating the sap table directly.

Dear Customer,

we do NOTrecomend to change the reference number of a document because, you will get

inconsistencies.

In an order it is possible to achieve if a field inputable or not via userexit USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION. But this is also a modification.

Yes, this behieve is obligatory.

Our customer has a Golden Tax system. They need export the billing and import it into Golden Tax system,after calculating the tax, then they import the billing into SAP system again. In this step ,we

need change the reference document of billing.

Hi Claudia,

In fact, I am in a project of SAP upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0.

In the 4.6c system, a previous consultant has implemented this function,I mean make the Reference field inputable in VF02.

I have checked what he has done. It is not Screen variant, User exit, or modification of standard program. So I am very surprised how he achieves it!

Do you know the other way to do it?
