Hi Dear friends,

I would have prefer to in install our demo system on a central component host mode and not on a distributed mode. But there is a step where the system is asking me the Migration Export Media which I do not have. How do you solve this problem ?

As i'm say before you trying the System Copy, not the installation ..

For installation you can choose the

"SAP Systems" and after for central system :

<SAP system> SAP Systems <Database> Central System

If you can't see this "SAP Systems" it means

you have wrong DVD (for 32 bit version) or you have wrong Windows (not 64 bit)

check with "systeminfo" command in cmd.

Regards.

OK

I ve check my system, seems like I have a x64 which 64 bit I guess.

The DVD I m using is named "SAP SOLUTIO MANAGER 7.0

Installation Master

within whcih I can find the path beginning with

SAP Installation Mater, then SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Support Release 4

and under this I have Standalone & Software Life Cycle Options

No where I have the path you re talking.

Do I have the wrong DVD ?

Check if under Standalone the options are available, it must be a path for your database -> Central System -> Central System Installation.

You need for 64 bit this version (depends for your hardware) -->

51033517_13 SOLMAN 7.0 Installation Master Windows Server on x64 64bit

or

51033517_12 SOLMAN 7.0 Installation Master Windows Server on IA64 64bit

as i can understand you have wrong :-->

51033517_11 SOLMAN 7.0 Installation Master Windows Server on IA32 32bit

P.S. if you have DVD not downloaded, all this are included in this DVD

(check by lable 51033517) only you need it navigate to rigth sapinst.exe (post the content of DVD where you open it, if you can't find rigth place) ...

Hi Sergo,

Tkx for your help.

You re right. I have a 51033517. But I do not know whether it is

51033517_13

51033517_12 or

51033517_11

How can I check my DVD before requesting the right DVD.

Will it imply that some other DVD need to be changed ?

It seems like the DVD automatically detect the type of config you have in your system and then propose the menu that match. Then the menu I have is the one I just indicated previously.

It seems like the propblem I have is a communication issue between Port 21200 & 21212 as I have the foloowing error message.

Unable to start a service execution.

Hi Sergo,

Do not be upset. I m just trying to find out your direct answer to my issue.

1- Am I using the right path ?

2- If not (as I only have the menu shown previously and I m using the right DVD 51033517), where is the right path ?

3- Then is it because of 32bits or 64bit I m not having the path leading to INSTALL instead of COPY ?

4- Here is what my system check is showing me

SAPinst GUI

I did not found some where 34bit or 64bit. But my system seem to be a 64bit unless someone knows what is it about a HP ProLiant DL365 - Second-Generation Opteron 2218 2.6 GHz

HP ProLiant DL365 - Rack - 2-way - 1 x Second-Generation Opteron 2218 / 2.6 GHz - RAM 2 GB - SAS - hot-swap 2.5" which is the one we are using.

5- So When I m installing (do not reaaly know if I m installing as I may not have the right path) or copying (the one I have), I have the following error :

It seems like it s a communication problem. The Install Guide is saying somewhere that if you have an eror message, enter the following comm :

sapinst.exe SAPINST_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_sapinst_gui_to_gui_server>

GUISERVER_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_gui_server_to_sapinst_gui>

I did it and it does not work.

If you trying and read my post you will find how you can determain have 64 or 32 bit ...

1) rigth click on "My computer" --> " Properties"

If you have 64 bit you will lijke :

Microsoft Windows 2003 (release)

x64 Edition

If you have 32 bit you will not see the "x64 Edition "

2) Go to START --> RUN --> CMD --> SYSTEMINFO

You will se like this if you have 64 bit:

Host Name: yourhostname

OS Name: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003 Enterprise x64 Edition

OS Version: 5.2.3790 Service Pack 1 Build 3790

bla bla bla

If you have 32 bit :

Host Name: yourhostname

OS Name: Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003, Enterprise Edition

OS Version: 5.2.3790 Service Pack 1 Build 3790

Tkx Sergio. That very usefull

Definitely, I may have a 32bits. Is this 32bits or 64 bits defined by the version of OS you ve installed or proper to the server whatever the OS ?

Does it means I should change the server or request some other DVD from SAP ?

You can't install Solman 7.0 (SM SR4) on 32 bit ...

You need 64 bit server, if your hardware support the 64 bit installation, you can install win 64 bit edition, try to google your hardware ...

I planning to change and then we ll see what happens. For my info, what does "GOOGLE MY HARDWARE" means.
