Logon Error When Creating New BW Universe Connection

I'm attempting to create a new Universe Connection to a BW Query in XI 3.1, but am unable to get past step 3 of the New Connection wizard due to denied logon/password. The SAP Integration Kit is installed, however the integrated security is not configured so SSO is not possible, so I'm passing in my specified username and password. All of the values were copied from the SAP GUI.

Define the login parameters to access your database using SAP BAPI

Firstly your UserID should be existing in SAP BW.

And BEX query should be visible for external application should be checked.

Thank you for the reply. I can logon onto BW directly using the SAP GUI. Is another level of authorization required to access BW through the Integration Kit?

Hi David,

Yes, you should have the roles, which were imported into SAP, at the time of installing integration kit. The roles which were imported should be:

BOE_CONTENT_CONSUMER

BOE_CONTENT_PUBLISHERS

BOE_SYSTEM_ADMINISTRATORS

CRYSTAL_ENTITLEMENT

And, you should have assigned the roles BOE_CONTENT_CONSUMER, BOE_CONTENT_PUBLISHERS to your SAP ID in your SAP System.
