Hi all,
I need to create customer number with different prefix following with a running number, for example
ZPP00001 where ZPP is a user-defined alphabet and 00001 is the system running number.
Is this possible in customer number creation?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
You can get the number range with your required prefix only with external number range.
Create a number range with external indicator marked and ensure your number range starts with required prefix. In your example, ZPP... T-Code XDN1.
Assign the number range to the account group created. T-Code: OBAR
Then create the customer in the XD01 with the newly created account group and the number you want along with the other parameters like Company code & sales area.
Hope this helps you.

Hi,
You can create customer with characteristic and numeric values ZPP00001.
But this is possible only with external number ranges.
Goto OVZC, create number ranges E.g No. DD From A to ZZZZZZZZ and choose external.
Now assign number ranges to account group.
Now create a customer. Choose account group and enter customer number ZPP00001 enter company code and sales area.

Chandra

Dear Steve,
I don't think as per the standard you can have either numeric or charectceristic through externel number range but you can't get both in same number (numeric +Charecteristic).
You can try with some user exit with the help of ABAPer
I hope this will help you,

Murali.
