SAP BC 4.8 SAP Listener - unicode conections do not work anymore

Hi all,

Is there someone, who succeeded in connecting the sap bc 4.8 sap listener to an ecc 6.0 (unicode) system?

My attempts ware all failures and i suspect, this is due to the missing unicode radio control in the 4.8. sap listener definition. Btw. the 4.7 sap listener had one.

Thanks in advance for your feedback

Gregor

I am not working on sap bc now but

In 4.8 when you create RFC destination

Tools -> Administration -> Administration -> Network -> RFC Destinations TCP/IP type you dont have unicode flag under options ?

Thanks

Gurav,

I'm talking about settings at SAP BC not at the SAP side.

Thanks

Hi

Sorry for that

When you add listener Unicode Listener is not present? SAP removed this feature ?

Checked with Installation and developer guides?

Thanks

Yap, the feature is gone.

I will

- stay with 4.7 for a while

- put some effort into (windows) service enabling it on the newer window platforms

In the meantime. 4.8 might mature.

Stop and Over

Hello,

The listener in BC 4.8 recognize automatically, if the SAP is a unicode-system or not. So this radiobutton isn't there any longer.

If your listener doesn't work, perhaps the reason is a missing entry in in your windows drivers/etc/services file.

If you have not installed a SAPGUI on you BC-server you have to add there

sapgw00 3300/tcp
