Does MCOD work in this situation?

Hello all,

I am considering doing the following for

SID1: IDES ECC 6.0 (ABAB + JAVA)

SID2: EP (JAVA) - associated with Netweaver 7.0

SID3: XI/IP (ABAP + JAVA) - assocated with Netweaver 7.0

These are 3 different SIDs.

The OS: Linux (SLES 10)

The DB: Oracle 10.2

Will this work in a MCOD situation? Can I do the following:

-> Install the IDES system

-> Install the EP (in the DB of the IDES system)

-> Install the XI/IP (in the DB of the IDES system)

Again, will such an approach work???

TIA

Technically it is possible to install in MCOD. MCOD just created different schema for each system and import the data in these schema. But the setup becomes too complicated when it comes to database activities such as shutdown of individual system, backup of each system separately. system restore and system copy etc...If its a test environment, you can go ahead.

Hi,

You can install in MCOD. But if there is any maintainence at DB level you need to stop all instances.

Its always better to install seperated DB instances for easy maintainence.

For IDES SR3 release you required 230 GB of DB.
