SMD installation

Hi,

When i install SMD agent on the monitored system, at "Create SMD agent service " phase i get the following error:

ERROR 2008-12-03 14:00:33

MOS-01011 'D:\usr\sap\SMD\exe/sapstartsrv.exe' returned with '-1'.

And when i try to start the service manually, i get a popup with following message:

"osmod.applicationReturn

The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

I tried with different CD's but the same problem occurs in all.

please give me a solution to this.

hi Kaushik,

try login to SIDadm and try to run the command r3trans -x then post the contain of trans.log to us.

Hi,

I believe the SID SMD is reserved by SAP and can therefore not be used as the

system id for the SMD. Please try with a different SID. It should work.

Thanks for your reply.

I also tried with a different SID for SMD installation. But still the problem occurs.

Is there a problem with the windows box where i am installing??
