how to lock user to a specific machine

Hi Gurus,

I am new to SAP, working as a basis consultant, i have a query, my client wants a specific user should be logged in a specific machine only.. my question is can we do sumthing in SU01 so that a user with unique passwd must be logged in to specific machine only..anything like IP address or mac id or machine name..can we use any of this..? OR any other solution to my clients requirement..?

i don't think thats possible.... you can do that at OS/Domain level though

Open the user account in AD and set the "logon to" to the name of the PC you need him to use... that will disable the user from login in any other PC.

Whats AD?

MS Active Directory.... Ask you Domain Admin or someone in Network support and they'll be able to sort you out.

I won't go into too much details as this is a SAP forum not a MS one.
