Using XAL with Central Monitoring (CEN)

Hi,

We have a solution that pulls CCMS Alerts and Performance Metrics out of SAP using XAL interface.

Everything is working fine...until we found out that one of the systems is configured as a Central Monitoring system...it seems that XAL only allows to get the local monitor tree not the whole tree as you see it in RZ20.

Can anyone shed light on this? Is there a way to configure to allow the whole tree retrieval? It seems that this information is a closely guarded secret. There is no information available anywhere...

I found the problem. If CCMS Data Cache is on for a system (kernel 700-710) the XAL interface is not working properly. You need to apply a fix as described in Sap Note 1275607.
