why PFCG not SU01

Hello Gurus

I fail to understand why it is always said to create profile and then assign users to them in PFCG rather than assigning role in SU01 to individual users, while both of them do same job.

I do role assigment mostly in SU01 is there any disadvantage doing so??

As Juan Said, no disadvantage .. But if you are doing directly through SU01, make sure user master comparison is scheduled in the system (job - PFCG_TIME_DEPENDENCY)

No disadvantage at all... If the role is already created you can assign it directly via SU01. If you are creating a role and you want to assign it directly via PFCG to the user/users then is good too.
