Hi,
are you sure with PI 7.0 sp 12 or is it maybe XI 3.0 sp 12?
PI 7.0 sp 12 equates to XI 3.0 sp 20.
I am not sure if there exists sp 17 for PI 7.0, at least the release notes are only up to PI 7.0 sp 13:

Hi,
Upgrading the system will always add to the performance and added functionalities. The changes that I observed are like added feature in RWB for Adapter Monitoring under Component monitoring, there are some screen changes also like for tcodes DB02,st06n and DB13.
Irrespective of the screen changes, performance is found to be better.
Thanks!

an upgrade to a new SP will always provide you with better options and features.
No critical bugs have been reported in SP 17, so you can upgrade and reap the benefits.
