Hi All,

Kindly let me know, why we need to implement xMII.

What are the advantages, disadvantages, Technical and functional details of xmii.

Kindly provide me all these informations.

xMII is implemented only , when there is a requirement for an integration between the ERP (any database) and Shop Floor (MES system).

ADVANTAGES:

• Shop Sloor System Integration with ERP

• Manufacturing intelligence

• Speedy Deployment

• Data need not be stored

• Real Time Scenario of Manufacturing Systems.

• Implementation time is relatively small

• Live data feed and display is possible

Technical & Functional Details:

Visualization Services: Provides Visualization Objects to build operational user interfacesin SAP xMII or Netweaver portal.

Business Logic Services: Connects to SAP business suite applications, enforce business processes, model workflow and schedule tasks.

Data Services: Bi-Directional data integration ; extract and aggregate data from different sources ; update data in target systems.

Actually, that's not true (MII is used only when there is a need to integrate ERP with MES).

A large percentage of MII implementations have very little integration, but lots of analytics focused exclusively at plant floor systems, and there are quite a few installations where a large percentage of the functionality is analytics from enterprise data sources (corporate data warehouses, BW, etc.).

Hi,

xMII is useful because it acts as an interface between Shop Floor and ERP Systems.

It can be used to develop application which can be an automation of SAP Application. So that it reduceses the cost since you cant provide SAP logon Credentials to all user, operators etc.

Its more application done in MII can be User friendly and also response can be made faster.

Can be implemented accross multiple plants easily.

It can access Idoc, BAPI , RFC etc to collect data and also update ERP Data Dictionary easily using JCO , and Web Services can be used to execute the other systems transaction easily.

Hope there are many more. Just added few points.
