1) What is a provider class?
2) Difference b/w Product Relation and Category Relation?
Hi,
Difference b/w Product Relation and Category Relation?
All product records are participated in product relationship. The product relationship can be
sibling or parent/child relationship. The name of product relationship is defined in MDM console using
relationship table and actual records which participate in relationship are defined in MDM data manager.
Disadvantage of product relationship is whenever any new records added to the repository those
will not be updated in the relationship automatically. We should manually add those records in product
relationship.
Category relation is defined in taxonomy mode of MDM Data Manafer using Matching sets.
Instead of defining relationship between records, relationship can be defined in category level
so that the records which belongs to that category automatically particaipated in relationship.
Thanks
Narendra

Hi Yash,
2) Difference b/w Product Relation and Category Relation?
Category Relationship: In this you define the relationship between two product categories. Category Relationship can be established only from Taxonomy table. This approach is very effecient because every existing/new record belonging to that category will automatically participate in that relationship; you don't need to create relationship for each and every record.
Product Relationship: In this, you can define the relationship between two or more individual products. This approach is very precise because you can specify the relationship for each and every record according to your requirement but it also has additional overhead because each relationship must be individually defined for existing as well new records.

Hi,
Product Level | Category Level
Relationship between tables | Relationship between Categories
Achieved using Parent/Child or Sibbling relationships | Achieved using Matching Sets
