SAP GUI shows hour glass

Hello,

I am trying to connect to R/3 server from my desktop SAP GUI and I keep getting hour glass showing connection in progress and I did not proceed further. where is the problem? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Check weather your R/3 server is up and running..

If the R/3 server is in remote network, u have to use vpn connection to connect to the system where r/3 installed.

R/3 server is running and I can connect to it. But sometimes remote users have difficulty accessing it and they get hour glass while trying to connect. It has nothing to do with VPN. They can access other applications.
