Hi Vijay,

I think u r trying to explore the Import Process...

Instead of waiting for the Master Record sample...You can create it in Datamanager and export the same(As excel format) and modify the master records..Try importing process...

Hope it will helpful...

Best Regards

Hi Vijay,

To work with MDM for a trial demo version:

You can work with the Sample data Repository as given in the below link:

If you want a demo source to work with you can either create your own source data referring to the various example given in MDM Blogs and articles.

You can either create a source in simple Excel if you want to practice with the basic features of MDM clients.

If you want to understand the advance features in MDM like the Cloning and joining you will have to work with Sources like Access and XML as Excel has limitation as it is not an updatable source format.

If you want to work with real time data, you can go with the real extraction of master records from ECC and then import it in MDM and you can then study the differnt features in MDM.

For going for ECC extraction Master records you will have to use two transactions

- MDMGX - For lookups/Checktablemasters

- MDM_CLNT_EXTR- For main table master records extraction.

You can refer the below links to understand the two extraction process in detail:

Hope It Helped

Hi Vijay,

If you have downloaded the entire MDM Setup then in Business Content you will get the sample repositories with data and the user will be admin and blank password.

Following basic operations you can performed in the MDM Clients

1. Console:

- Try different repository related operations like Archive-UnArchive, Duplicate etc. Also you can play with users, roles, permissions etc

2. Import Manager:

- Try to import data from different sources like Excel, Fixed Text, XML etc and check the functionality of various tabs present in Import Manager.

3. Data Manager:

- There are many operations present in Data Manager like Matching-Merging, Assignemnts, Validations, Searching, Workflows etc.

4. Syndicator:

- Explore the Map properties

Hi Vijay,

you can get the standard repositories in archive folder when you install MDM. you can log on to one of those repos with id"Admin"and password " "(nothing). On the repository you will have fields and table which you can fill with relevent data in data manager.

For importing a file, you can use aexcel sheet with fields created in that and values added. If you need more info, pls let know.
