Hi all,
I've defined a number range for a new material type.
When I try to create a material within the new material type, I get this message : "Internal error in the number range, check for the material number".
Then when I go to check the customizing via SPRO transaction, I get this message : "The number range interval with number 15 must be external".
Does anyone know the solution for that ?
Thank you.
Bahia
Hi
If you are sure that your settings are correct in MMNR
Then do this and check and reply back
IMG-L.G-MATERIAL MASTER-BASIC SETTINGS-MATERIAL TYPE---DEFINE ATTRIBUTES OF MATERIAL TYPES
in this choose yuor material type and click on its details
in the general data tab there is a external no assignmentw/o check a check box is there
Pls tick that and try to redo your process by giving external no

Hi
I beleive that you are doing it in T code MMNR
Then when I go to check the customizing via SPRO transaction, I get this message : "The number range interval with number 15 must be external".
Check the no range interval 15 and it will be external ticked
Hence you are getting this message
For this remove the tick the external no check box from interval 15 this will give internal no when you save the MM01 transaction
Or otherwise create the material by giving external no in MM01

Thank you for you answer RAJA.
Yes, I'm doing it through Tcode : MMNR
You're right, the no range interval 15 is external ticked. This is because I need to keep this external numbering for this material type.
I've tried to create a material by giving external no in MM01 and this is leads to the first error message : "Internal error in the number range, check for the material number".

Bahia.
